Slovenia, region by region.
Ten days on the ground across seven regions, in a country you can cross in an afternoon. I went to look at rooms, roads and rhythms rather than photographs. These are the notes: what I would actually book, and what I would skip.
The country, at a glance
Seven regions, one short drive apart
The distances are the point. Nothing here is more than a couple of hours from anything else, which is why an itinerary that would need a domestic flight elsewhere is a morning in the car here.
Piran
